Overview

BracketBoard ("we", "us", "our") provides tournament bracket management software at bracketboard.app. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information We Collect

Account data: When you sign up as a tournament director, we collect your name, email address, and organization name. This is stored securely in our database and used to manage your account.

Tournament data: Tournament names, divisions, participant names, teams, seeds, and match results that you enter while managing your tournaments.

Payment data: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers. We receive your payment status and transaction ID from Stripe.

Notification subscriptions: When spectators subscribe to match notifications, we collect their email address and/or phone number. This data is used solely to send match-ready alerts.

Analytics and Session Recording

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site (page views, feature usage, traffic sources).

We use Microsoft Clarity for session recording and heatmaps to improve user experience and understand how directors and spectators interact with our platform. Clarity operates in "Balanced" masking mode, which automatically masks images and user-entered text (such as email addresses and names) so that sensitive information is not recorded.

Both services use cookies and similar technologies. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

How We Use Your Data

• To provide and operate the tournament bracket service

• To send match-ready notifications to subscribed spectators
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
• To improve the product through analytics and session recording

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with the third-party services required to operate BracketBoard:

• Supabase — database and authentication hosting
• Stripe — payment processing
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Twilio — SMS notifications (Pro tier only)
• Google Analytics — website analytics
• Microsoft Clarity — session recording and heatmaps
• Vercel — application hosting

Data Retention

Tournament data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete a tournament, its data is permanently removed. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at our contact page.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of analytics tracking

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of BracketBoard after changes constitutes acceptance.
